ADJUSTING & POSITIONING YOUR
COLLAR FOR PROPER FIT
Proper collar tightness and
position are very important to
insure safety and correct
functioning every time you
use the collar.
All electronic collars need to be
very snug to work properly. They
must be just tight enough to allow
the “prongs” or electrodes to make good skin contact.
If your collar is too loose, the stimulation may not work
properly because good skin contact is not being achieved.
This can directly affect the stimulation performance and
whether or not the dog will receive the stimulation.
Always check for good “prong” contact if it appears that
your dog is not responding to the stimulation.
A loose collar can promote skin irritation from moving or
rubbing too much on a dog’s neck while they are running
or training. The proper snug fit will help prevent this
from occurring.
Proper fit of the collar is important. It should be just
tight enough on the dog’s neck to make good skin contact
and allow the dog to breath normally. The collar should
never be so tight on the dog’s neck that it restricts the
dog’s normal breathing pattern.
For proper positioning of your collar receiver box, it
should be placed on the center of the dog’s neck.

Indicators
Collar Receiver
(No-Bark model shown)
All SPT collars have 50 available
intensity levels with One being
the lowest and 50 the highest.
The current Intensity Level is
conveniently shown on the LED
Display. To change intensity levels at any time simply
press the Up or Down Intensity Level Adjustment Buttons.
You can change the level one step at a time by quickly
pressing on of the buttons or you can rapidly change levels
by holding a button.
TURNING YOUR COLLAR ON & OFF
Turning the Unit On:
Press and hold the Power/Mode
button on the Collar Receiver.
The Red LED Indicator will
light solidly for two seconds.
Continue holding the Button
until the Red light goes off.
The unit is now On. The LED Indicator will now flash
approximately every Two seconds.
(Note: The Transmitter is always in a permanent sleep
state. It is only On when a button is being pressed, and
does not need to be turned off by the user).
Turning the Unit Off:
When you are ready to shut the unit off simply press and
hold the Power/Mode button for three seconds. Again the
Red LED indicator will light solidly. Hold the Button until
the light goes off. The Unit is now Off.

INTENSITY LEVEL
The SPT 7000, SPT 7002, SPT 7400, and the SPT 7402
are equipped with a No-Bark Training Mode for the
correction of problematic barking.
All D.T. Systems No-Bark Training devices are equipped
with Vibration Sensors. This type of sensor only activates
the stimulation when it senses vibration from the dogs
vocal cords. This eliminates unnecessary “shock” from
extraneous noises or rattling tags.
INTENSITY LEVEL CONT.
The first and most important step in training your dog with
your SPT Training System is the determination of the cor-
rect Intensity Level to provide the proper training stimula-
tion without over shocking your dog.
To do this place the Collar on the dog’s neck and turn it
on. Press the Intensity Level Adjustment Down Button
until the LCD Display shows that the System is set on
Level One. Press either the N or the S Button. Increase
the Intensity Level in increments of just one or two until
the dog is feeling the shock. You should be able to tell
when the dog is feeling the shock by the outward signs of
discomfort or confusion on it’s face. At this point increase
the Intensity Level by three. This should be your dog’s
ideal training level. (Note: Some dog’s may require more
or less stimulation depending upon their individual nature.)
11
NO-BARK TRAINING MODE
NO-BARK TRAINING MODE CONT.
Our No-Bark Trainers have a three second safety delay. Once a
corrective stimulation is administered the unit will not shock
again for three seconds, no matter how much the dog is barking.
This prevents constant shocking which could be harmful to the
dog’s health.
To switch your system between Remote Training Mode and No-
Bark Training Mode, firmly and steadily press the Power/Mode
Button on the Collar Receiver twice. The Red LED Indicator
will change to Green and will flash 6 times very quickly and
then light solidly for three seconds. It will then resume flashing
once every two seconds (Green). The collar is now in No-Bark
Mode.
Once the collar receiver is in No-Bark Mode set the Intensity
Level that your dog needs for No-Bark training by pressing the
Up or Down Intensity Level buttons and then pressing any of the
Mode Buttons on the Transmitter.
To switch back to Remote Training Mode from No-Bark Mode
simply repeat the switching process. Firmly and
steadily press the Power/Mode Button on the Collar Receiver
twice. The LED Indicator will change back from Green to Red
and will flash 6 times very quickly and then light solidly for
three seconds. It will then resume flashing once every two
seconds (Red). The collar is now in Remote Mode.
Note: Turning the unit off while in No-Bark mode resets the
collar and when turned back on the system will be in Remote
Training Mode.
12
With SPT Two Dog Systems (7002, 7102, 7202, & 7402)
you can control two dogs with one Transmitter.
One Collar is Orange and the other is Black.
The LCD Display shows which collar you are
currently controlling. To switch the currently
active collar simply press the Collar Change Button.
REMOTE TRAINING MODE
Depending upon which model Trainer you have there will
be either Two or Four Stimulation Buttons.
The “Nick” Button applies a very quick shock.
The Constant Stimulation Button applies a constant
shock up to 8 seconds.
Causes the Collar Receiver to Vibrate.
Applies the Constant Stimulation and the Vibration
simultaneously up to 8 seconds.
13
SWITCHING BETWEEN COLLARS
(TWO DOG MODELS)
Training your dog with a D.T. Systems
is a very individual
experience. Dogs will respond differently to the various
types of stimuli. Patience and knowing your dog is the
best way to ensure proper training.
BATTERIES
All training collars are equipped
with rechargeable Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH) batteries
which are not memory sensitive and do not require depletion
before recharging.
The batteries come partially charged from the factory, but will
require a full charge before the first use. (12 hours).
Remember - Always keep batteries away from flame.
When storing the unit for long periods remember to regularly
give the batteries a full charge (14 hours). This should be done
once every 4 to 6 weeks.
Excessive overcharging can shorten battery life. Never leave
the batteries plugged in for more than 14 hours.
Battery Char
ging Procedure
1. Turn the unit off.
2. Plug the charger into a standard electrical outlet.
3. Charge the batteries for 12 hours. This can be done either
separately or simultaneously.
4. After charging, disconnect the battery charging cables from the
receptacles and securely replace the rubber battery receptacle
covers.
5. Test the system to make sure that everything is working
properly.
14
15
TESTING
There are three methods you can use to test your
depending upon your model’s features.
First, you should make sure that both the transmitter and
receiver are fully charged. Then turn on the power to the
collar receiver. Next, follow one of these three steps:
To Test the Electronic
Stimulation:
A) Place the tester firmly on
the electrodes of the collar
receiver.
B) Set the intensity (Note - An
intensity level setting of 7 or
less might not be enough to
light the tester).
C) Push either the N, SV or S
buttons.
D) The tester light will quickly
flash for the Nick function and light steadily when the
Constant Stimulation or Constant and Vibration buttons are
pushed. (The higher the intensity, the brighter the test
light).
T
o Test the
Vibration:
A) Follow the directions for testing the Electronic
Stimulation, and press the SV or V button.
B) If you press the SV button, the unit should vibrate and
the tester should light. If you press the V button the
unit should vibrate but the tester should not light.
16
TESTING CONT.
To Test the No-Bark Feature
(on equipped models):
A) Place the two red wires from the
Test Light onto the electrodes
(as shown).
B) Quickly and steadily slide the
bottom of the test light (the
serrated edge) across the top of
the sensor.
C) If the light flashes, the unit is
functioning properly.
D) Because of the automatic three
second delay, if you repeat step
B too quickly, the test light will
not light again. In this case simply wait three seconds and
try again.
It is very important to periodically clean your
for maximum
performance. Regular cleaning will also lengthen the life
of your unit.
Clean the collar box
with lukewarm water and a mild anti-bacterial soap.
Take care to thoroughly clean the space between the
electrodes and the belt.
The belt and buckle should be cleaned with water and a
mild soap then allowed to dry completely.
Always allow the entire unit to completely dry before
using.
MAINTENANCE

IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTES
Before beginning training your dog should be examined by
a veterinarian to assure that there are no physical reasons
for your dog’s excessive barking and to assure that your
dog in good health.
Your is a very
valuable tool if used correctly. Therefore it is extremely
important that you completely understand all functions of
the collar and how to properly train with it before placing it
on your dog.
Since no electronic device is perfect, there is an extremely
slim possibility that your dog may receive an unintentional
electric stimulation. Therefore never leave the unit on your
dog while unsupervised.
The electrodes on this collar are made with high grade
stainless steel to help prevent any chemical or allergic
reactions with your dog’s skin.
To prevent neck irritation, the collar should never be worn
for more than 12 hours a day. Daily changing the collar
location on the dog’s neck will also help prevent irritations.
It is important to keep the collar clean. Clean the
electrodes regularly with a mild anti-bacterial soap.
If an irritation is found, carefully wash the dog’s neck with
soap and water and then wipe the area with Hydrogen
Peroxide. Dry thoroughly and apply an antibiotic ointment.
